Co-Founder and Managing Partner

Chi is a people and business builder at heart.

Chi brings 25+ years’ experience in growing and scaling businesses across the healthcare ecosystem to work with founders across a wide range of functions to build and expand their businesses.

Chi was previously CEO of Berman Skin Institute (BSI), a multi-site medical group providing dermatology and cosmetic surgery services across Northern California (acquired by DermCareManagement/ Hildred Capital Management). 

Prior to BSI, Chi held senior leadership positions in marketing, sales and business development, product management and corporate strategy at McKesson Corporation (NYSE: MCK), DaVita Inc. (NYSE: DVA), Signostics Inc. (now EchoNous Corp.) and Omnicell, Inc. (NASDAQ: OMCL), and was an investment banker at Piper Jaffray, Inc. (now Piper Sandler Companies (NYSE: PIPR)).

Chi has driven double and triple-digit revenue and operating profit growth and market share expansion across start-ups, mid-size and Fortune 500 organizations (across pre-revenue start-ups to $150+ billion business divisions). 

Chi is an Advisor for reflect, Inc. and Summa Academy.

Chi holds an MBA from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania and a BS in finance from the Carlson School of Management at the University of Minnesota.

Co-Founder and Managing Partner

John is an investor who loves to build, and believes there is art and science to boosting quality and outcomes in a growth business. 

John has 25+ years' experience as a founding partner for multiple private equity funds, developing investment and impact strategies in the healthcare and education sectors. 

As a founding partner of TPG’s Rise Fund (NASDAQ: TPG), the world’s largest social impact fund with $25 billion in assets under management, John developed the fund’s global investment strategies in the education and healthcare sectors.  

Prior to TPG's Rise Fund, John also developed and executed investment strategies for Bridges Ventures and Gryphon Investors. Over his career, John built 14 different companies in partnership with visionary management teams, including Strayer Education, Sylvan Learning Systems, Concentra, Fresenius, Brightnow! Dental, Envision, Delta Career, Accelerated Rehab, EverFi and Renaissance Learning. 

John led investments in and currently sits on the Boards of Directors of Discovery Education/ DreamBox Learning,  Burrell College of Osteopathic Medicine, Idaho College of Osteopathic Medicine, InStride, Presence Learning, Outcomes First Group and Teachers of Tomorrow. 

John earned a doctorate from the Graduate School of Education at the University of Pennsylvania, an MBA from Stanford University and a BA in political science from Yale University.
